PACOS Trust is a community-based organisation dedicated to supporting indigenous communities in Sabah. The organisation strives to empower indigenous communities through systematic building and strengthening of community organisations, which can act collectively on its own. They also support networking among organisations struggling to assert rights over community resources and revitalising indigenous systems.
Green Empowerment works with rural communities and partners around the world to improve access to affordable and renewable energy, safe drinking water, sanitation systems, fuel efficient cook stoves and more. With GE support, systems are designed, constructed and maintained by the communities that benefit from them to ensure long-term economic and environmental sustainability.
This training focuses on "productive end uses of electricity", helping participants understand rural businesses in the context of mini-grids. The course will go into the varying types of rural businesses and how they operate, while teaching key stakeholders to pass on the knowledge of business planning to rural community business owners.
